Worcester Polytechnic Institute provides reserve officer training corps(ROTC) programs in agreeance with the US Department of Defense. Curriculum follows a mix of leadership, personal development, national security, military history, and physical development practice and theory.  WPI offers Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps training are available on area college campuses.

Massachusetts Maritime Academy has been preparing women and men for over 100 years as professionals on land and sea.  The academy expects more from all of their students in academics, but physical as well as personal behaviors are always a high standard.

The Liberty Battalion (Boston College and Northeastern University) offers merit-based scholarships to qualified college freshmen, sophomores, juniors and high school seniors. The criteria are a 2.5 GPA, a SAT of at least 920, medical clearance, the ability to pass the Army Physical Fitness Test (view *video) consisting of push-ups, sit-ups and a two-mile run, letters of recommendation, and U.S. citizenship.  High school students may receive conditional offers, which are dependant on meeting the above requirements and obtaining admission to BC.
